Ten new CBC News jobs in Calgary were posted this morning. These, presumably, are part of the people given back to Alberta after CBC moved — er, “reconfigured” — CBC Newsworld programming from Calgary to Toronto: 4 reporter/editors Video-journalist 4 videgraphers Switcher-Director In what I’m sure is just a coincidence, only two positions are posted for Toronto this morning: Specialist in “Contract Management” Specialist in Automation

It takes a decent respect for the obvious truth to admit that mankind has no control over the climate. What is occurring, however, is a trend toward global cooling. Alan Caruba thinks that between rising food costs driven by an environmental agenda and real, not imagined climate change, the word famine is going to be heard more often.

Cubans are not just washing ashore in the Keys anymore. They have come to the less guarded west coast. Be on the look out for blue barrels (for fuel), and theft of boats from the human smugglers. Should the USA rethink the wet foot/dry foot policy? What will happen once Cuba is opened up to US travelers?
